One of the authors of the Bill (Reg.No5303), V. Landik, the People´s Deputy of Ukraine representing the Bill in the course of the Committee sitting stated that it is aimed at the legislation improvement regulating the extraction and investigation of the minerals and ores. The Bill suggests implementation of more severe liability system for the infringements and damage to the natural environment and people´s health.
The authors also suggest the amendments to the article 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and article 47 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements.
In the course of the discussion the Committee members stated that the Bill adoption facilitates the improvement of the legal mechanism of counteraction to the illegal actions in the sphere of mineral resources use.
